  • The Little Cocoa Bean Co. is a social enterprise that produces baby care and feeding products designed to help parents serve nutrient-dense, healthy, delicious and diverse foods to their children. We also prepare baby and toddler meals inspired by global favorites with ingredients from around the world.     We are looking for a retail associate who enjoys working with customers selling and promoting baby care and feeding products. The retail associate position will assist customers by providing recommendations, answering questions, alerting customers to product options and expanding sales revenues. The ideal candidate for this position has experience working in retail or restaurants and has a strong dedication to providing exceptional service for customers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Greet and assist customers as they shop within a store.

    • Answer questions related to the merchandise and store policies and locate items.

    • Process payments and keep the sales floor tidy and well-stocked.

    • Assist in maintaining the back-stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor.

    • Capture fun Instagram moments within the store with customers to share on companies’ social channels.

    • Help promote our products on social media.

    • Utilize the company’s POS system to handle customer purchases.

    • Collaborate with team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organized at all times.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • *EEC experience is preferred but not required

    • High School diploma/GED recommended but not required for the right candidate

    • 2+ years’ customer service industry experience recommended but not required for the right candidate

    • Ability to work well on a team required

    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Compensation:

    • $20 per hour

    • Quarterly bonuses for positive customer experiences and operational excellence

    Our interns will be able to expand their Nutrition knowledge and Culinary skills in the kitchen of a small business focused on nourishment of youth during their first 1,000 days of life. Interns will be able to gain a wide variety of experience including recipe creation and nutrition facts creation to food preparation and beyond.

    Responsibilities:

    • Help in the preparation of all food and drinks menus to produce high-quality plates both design and taste

    • Produce high-quality plates both design and taste-wise

    • Assist in creation of nutrition facts and labels for menu items

    • Participate in recipe development and testing

    • Measure, cut, or otherwise work on materials or objects with great precision.

    • Use arithmetic to figure amounts of product/materials needed, quantities needed and cost of products/materials.

    • Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens

    • Cleaning and sanitizing the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards

    • Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment

    • Fill in for the Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1 year prior culinary experience; knowledge of nutrition is preferred

    • Flexible in working various entry level positions within the property

    • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, squat, and lean during daily business for

    • extended periods of time

    • Exhibit safe food handling practices

    • Exhibit basic knowledge and understanding of cooking techniques; strive to advance knowledge and skills

    • Follow verbal direction and written recipes quickly and accurately; asking appropriate questions for clarification

    • Must demonstrate fundamental culinary knowledge and a passion for the craft

    • Must be knowledgeable of weights, measures and math used in kitchen applications

    • Ability to provide cost insights for recipes

    • Knowledge and previous experience of scaling recipes

    Benefits:

    As an intern you will be provided with employee meals when on-site as well as a wide range and variety of experience in your internship. This internship is paid at $17 an hour with flexibility to be part time or full time.
