Tropical Freezer Pops-YUM!

Adding diversity to your diet doesn’t have to be challenging and it can be FUN! Use any of the tropical freezer pop recipes below for fun ways to add unique tropical fruits to your diet.

Recipe 1:

2 passion fruit

1 med banana

3/4 cup vanilla yogurt

*Cut passion fruits in half and scoop out the contents with a spoon. Use a strainer to separate pulp from the fruit. It will not yield much but passion fruit is tart so a little will go a long way. Add the pulp, banana and yogurt to a blender. Add to a popsicle mold. Freeze and enjoy!

Recipe 2:

1/2 cup ripe mango

1/2 cup pineapple

1 cup unsweetened coconut cream

Blend ingredients together, freeze in a popsicle mold and enjoy!

Recipe 3:

1/2 cup papaya (remove seeds)

1/2 cup pitaya (aka dragonfruit)

1/4 cup banana

1 tbs honey

Blend ingredients together, freeze in a popsicle mold and enjoy!

Recipe 4:

1/2 cup soursop

1/2 cup pineapple

1/2 cup ripe mango

Your soursop should be slightly soft to the touch. That’s how you’ll know it’s ready. Wash the soursop and peel the skin away from the fleshy inside. Cut and cube the inner fibrous part. Remove all of the black seeds. They should not be consumed. Yes, it’s a lot of work but soursop is so good for you and worth the work. Once you’ve removed all of the seeds, throw the fruit that’s left into a blender with the other ingredients. Freeze in a popsicle mold and enjoy!
